KPBX
Kids' Concerts presents
KIDSTOCK
Hosted by Carlos Alden
Featuring The Working Spliffs,
Jenny Edgren, & Carlos Alden
& face painting by The Girls Scouts
of Washington and North Idaho
Friday, July 17, 2009 - noon to 1pm - FREE

KPBX celebrates
the music, spirit, and 40th anniversary of
The Woodstock Festival at the July Kids’ Concert on Friday, July 17, on
the beautiful, rolling lawn of Riverfront Park.
Enjoy an hour of peace, love, and happiness with some of Spokane’s finer
folk and rock musicians: singer/songwriter
Jenny Edgren, Celtic Nots’ member Carlos Alden, and
The Working Spliffs, whose music is influenced by the likes of The Grateful
Dead, Patti Smith, and Bob Marley. Members of The Girl Scouts of Washington
and North Idaho will be sharin’ in the love, too, with groovy (and free)
face painting for kids’ of all ages.
SPR’s Morning Edition host Steve Jackson, guitarist for
the Spliffs, says, “The Woodstock Nation never died. Sure, generations
change, but the whole meaning of Woodstock is still alive. I think it’s
cool that today’s kids are discovering the music of Jimi Hendrix, Creedence
Clearwater Revival, and Janis Joplin."
KPBX
Kids’ Concerts began 16 years ago in Riverfront Park and have become a
favorite summer event for families, downtown daycares, and folks who just
want to get away from the office to hear some good music and eat lunch
in the park.
RAIN DATE
In the rare event that it rains, our summer concerts may be moved indoors.
Stay tuned to KPBX 91.1fm on concert mornings for special announcements.
Or log-on to our website at www.kpbx.org, for up-to-date location details.
